Devil Wears Prada (PG)

Hey,

I went to see this film last night and it was surprisingly good. I was faced with a choice last night, it was either Devil Wears Prada or Last Kiss (or something along those lines). I think I made the right choice.

Very funny in parts, but it’s got a moral bearing aswell. It’sa a must see.

Sadly, like all films, it has bad parts, it swears a bit and has some inuendos.

Gutted

Hey.

I’m pretty gutted today. I’m just gutted. And sad…

It’s sad when old friends just go away and forget about you.

But then again, that’s life innit.

Pfft.

Aw well, at least I know fish feel the same way sometimes. 😀

Do you know what though? I have a friend that’s with me 24/7! He is there all the time, this songs just sprung to my mind,

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.
2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.
Amazing.

Jesus & Sister Freaks

In reply to Granimor,

God calls all Christians to lay their lives down for the cause of Christ, if we have to.

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” 1 John 3:16

Jesus Christ died to save us from everlasting punishment and death. Most of these people in the stories have been faced a choice, if they renounce their faith, they’ll be saved from punishment from humans, however they also have the knowledge that Christ laid himself down for them.

I’ll tell you what it says on the covers:

There are more Christian martyrs today than there were in 100AD – in the days of the Romans Empire. According to the world Christian Encyclopedia, there were close to 156,000 Christian martyred in 1998. And estimated 164,000, will be martyred in 1999.

For some people today standing up for Jesus means dying for Him. In John 15:13 Jesus says, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay odwn his life for his friends.

This book has been dedicated to all those who refused to deny Jesus.

Your faith was not in vain.

In this book there is a huge message for Christians:

“Remember the Lord’s people who are in jail and be concerned for them. Don’t forget those who are suffering, but imagine that you are there with them.” Hebrews 13:3 (cev)

Apology

Just wanted to make a formal apology for not submitting a blog in ages. I will try and be better in the future. Don’t worry.

I’m working at the moment. As much as I love my job, it can get a bit tedious at times. But I’m so grateful for it!

It’s been difficult for me recently, especially with my walk with God. It’s funny how I always want to blog when things are going wrong!

One thing thats been on my mind lately it death and dying for Christ. I’ve been reading books like Jesus Freaks (DC Talk) and Sister Freaks (Rebecca St. James). They’ve really been encouraging, but at the same time it’s pretty scary to think that one day God may call me to do the same thing. I think we’ve always got to remember though, that through whatever trial and temptation, we will be held by the all-powerful hand of God.

I’d just like to remind you of an amazing website, http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com, it’s there for all those suffering, with habitual sins, e.g. lust (hetero and homosexual, gambling, smoking, teen purity.)

Hope you all have a great Autumn (or “Fall” as you silly Americans call it!! (only kidding!).

See yeh,
Dan

PS. Please leave a comment! or am I just talking to myself?
