Wenglish/Englesh Phrases

Wenglish and Englesh (not English) is the language that every Welsh person speaks. Usually both are just called Wenglish to save confusion. Wenglish is the mixture of the English and Welsh language (a little bit like Patwa in Jamaica). We have some great phrases that have cropped up:

“I’ll be there in a minute now” – It’s an oxymoron that you here alot of Welsh people say. It just means “I’ll be there as soon as possible.” if you want a literal meaning.

“A’rite?!” – (said “or-ite”) like the equivalent to “G’day mate!” or “Hey!” or “Are you alright?”

“But” – Friend e.g. “A’rite but?”

“Mun” – Nobody really knows why we say this, but it might derive from the word “Man” to express a feeling. It’s is used to reflect that feeling of annoyance, e.g. “What are you doing mun!!” in other words, “What are you doing that for you stupid person!” Almost always used at the end of a sentence.

“Dur” – Another word someone might use to express annoyance. Usually used at the beginning of a sentence, e.g. “Dur, why are you so dumb?”.

“Dur mun!” – Meaning, “I’m really annoyed!”

“tidy” – Used to desribe something in a very positive way, equivelant would be “Wicked!” or “Awesome!”. Shows that your are impressed with something.

“Nasty” – Wenglish for “severely” e.g. “It’s raining nasty” meaning, “It’s raining very bad.”

“Ach-a-fi” – “disgusting”

This is just a few, next time I think of some more I’ll tell you! Wenglish is very funny.

New Song

Hey how are you all? I’ve got my Grade 7 Piano exam in 11 days! And I really don’t know if I’m going to pass!

I’ve written a new song called “Waiting For A Whisper” hopefully one day I could get them on the web. It’s a full of Christian words and jazz chords! Sounds really good.

Good to speak to you and maybe one day I’ll talk to you about some more controversial issues!

Dyma gariad fel y moroedd – Here is Love

Dyma gariad fel y moroedd,
Tosturiaethau fel y lli:
Twysog Bywyd pur yn marw—
Marw i brynu’n bywyd ni.
Pwy all beidio â chofio amdano?
Pwy all beidio â thraethu’I glod?
Dyma gariad nad â’n angof
Tra fo nefoedd wen yn bod.

Ar Galfaria yr ymrwygodd
Holl ffynhonnau’r dyfnder mawr;
Torrodd holl argaeau’r nefoedd
Oedd yn gyfain hyd yn awr:
Gras â chariad megis dilyw
Yn ymdywallt ymâ ’nghyd,
A chyfiawnder pur â heddwch
Yn cusanu euog fyd.

Here is love, vast as the ocean,
Lovingkindness as the flood,
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom,
Shed for us His precious blood.
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten,
Throughout Heav’n’s eternal days.

On the mount of crucifixion,
Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above,
And Heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.

Amazing Grace Musical

I went to see the Amazing Grace Musical last night, an this was my first ever musical! It was so amazing! Mal Pope wrote the music and it was just so amazing!

It’s all about the Welsh revival that took place in 1904 through one man, Evan Roberts, God spoke to thousands of people not only in Wales, but right across the globe.

It’s a must see in you live in Wales!

Happy Bonfire Night!

Aah. Sitting in front of my personal machine sipping a cup of near-enough-to-starbucks take-away cappuccino and reading the Guardian at the same time. The last day of the half term break. Aw well, it was good while it lasted.

Just read about the not so coveraged sans papiers in France. For those of you who haven’t heard. San papiers are children in risk of deportation from France. Now the trick is, families cannot be deported unless they are together. So smart communities all around France hide one member of the family (usually a child) and the member is passed from family to family in the community. That way, families can be saved from deportation. You can read the full story here. I find it amazing to here that there are still people in this world who are willing to risk their own lives to save others. It’s a very rare occurrence in this day and age. Some people have yet to learn that it’s not money that makes the world go round, but love. It sounds cheesy, but it’s true.

Let me get this straight, Sai Baba is meant to be a god on earth? Don’t people get it, they’ve missed the Almighty God on earth by over 2000 years! Satan is a great deceptor, you have to give it to him. The hearts and minds of this day and generation are so easily led away to hell in chains. The naivety of it is that people actually think they are free. They think that being away from Christ (or “religion”) is freedom! “Fools!”1 the Bible calls them. Satan has people carted off to hell on a daily basis, “where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.”2.

Anyway, what kind of “god” sexually abuses and molesters boys?

“Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. See, I have warned you about this ahead of time. “So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”3

So have the birth pains started?

Hmm…

Top 10

Christian Books

My favourites are constantly changing so I thought I’d try and work out my top ten at this moment in time. I’m still not happy with my choices because you can’t really rate them. So what I’ve done is put them in order of helpfulness in my opinion.

10. Left Behind Series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins (13 books)
9. Out of the Saltshaker by Rebecca Manley Pippert
8. Jesus Freaks by DC Talk
7. Humility: True Greatness by C.J. Mahaney
6. Five English Reformers by J.C. Ryle
5. From Witchcraft To Christ by Doreen Irvine
4. Bible Doctrine by Wayne Grudem
3. The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson
2. Sex Is Not The Problem, Lust Is by Joshua Harris

1. Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper
This book is so true and I have to admit it, I was crying at the end of it. If it’s the last but one thing you do, read this book. Then go out and tell someone else to read it. Amazing.

Secular Books

These are what I’d recommend to you in the secular world.

10. War Of The Worlds by H.G. Wells
9. Well Of Echoes by Ian Irvine (4 books)
8. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown *ALERT*
7. Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
6. Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver
5. Deception Point by Dan Brown
4. Decipher by Stel Pavlou *ALERT*
3. Letter Perfect by David Sacks
2. Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown *ALERT*

1. Harry Potter Series (6 books)
I know these are some controversial books, and to be honest, written quite badly. But I was born in the Harry Potter generation, and the books are very interesting and awesome to read. Book six was amazing!!! Who would have guessed it!

*ALERT* Make sure that you check the out the truth by reading Christian books on the matter before delving into these books so that doubts do not form. Or just don’t read the book at all!

Hope you enjoyed my top tens. I still don’t think I’ve get them right, but there we are anyway. So…go and buy them and read them!!!
